Finally,
at a NAMM show back in 1995, someone
asked what I did for a living. For the first time, I answered, "I
program custom databases." As it happens, the guy I was talking to
worked for Walt Disney Imagineering,
and he offered me a job right there on the spot. That was my first paying
gig as a software programmer. From there I went on to work for many, many
different companies, providing my expertise and building systems to custom
fit their needs. In 1997, I was a invited to appear as a guest speaker
at the annual FileMaker
Developers Conference in San Jose, CA, where I presented a paper on
database security in multi-user networked environments. I also began teaching
seminars about using FileMaker in business applications. And I wrote several
articles for FileMaker Pro Advisor
magazine on various programming techniques.
Today, I
am building a new company, along with a partner, Christo Lowe. The company
is Excelisys, and I am the Director
of Operations. We are very proud of our new found success. Check out our
web site at http://www.excelisys.com/.
